Hi and welcome! I’m so excited you’re here. I’m Emily, the hands and heart behind Sunshine City Doula.

I’m a Newborn Care Specialist, Postpartum Doula, Certified Lactation Counselor, Infant Sleep Consultant, and Professional Career Nanny based in St. Petersburg, Florida, proudly supporting families across the Tampa Bay area. What that means is that I’m an expert in supporting you during one of the most exciting (and sometimes challenging) times of your life! I’ve spent the past decade helping families navigate the newborn stage and beyond, specializing in newborn care and postpartum support.

After years of working as a nanny and supporting growing families, I transitioned my focus to working exclusively with newborns and postpartum families as a doula and newborn care specialist. I believe that every family deserves exceptional care as they transition through the postpartum period, and my mission is to provide that through comprehensive, compassionate care that goes far beyond basic baby care - offering the expertise, reassurance, and individualized support every family deserves.

In addition to my direct NCS and nanny experience and my Early Childhood Education degree from Portland State University, I hold over 8 industry-specific certifications and endorsements, including the INA’s Credentialed Nanny and Newborn Care Specialist, CACHE Certification, and the Newborn Care Specialist Association’s Advanced NCS Certification. I also hold a post-degree credential as an Infant-Toddler Developmental Specialist, awarded by the State of Florida, qualifying me in Early Intervention with children ages 0–3. I’m passionate about continuing education and staying up to date with the latest research and best practice to provide the highest standard of care for every family I work with.
