As your Tampa Newborn Care Specialist, I help new families get the sleep they need. Many new parents find they function very well throughout the day — as long as they're getting a decent night's sleep! During overnight care, I take over the baby care for you. This means taking care of diaper changes, swaddling, soothing, and feeding. I also cultivate healthy, developmentally appropriate sleep patterns that set the foundation for long-term sleep success — to have your baby on a great routine and naturally sleeping through the night by around 12-16 weeks old. Some people call this service a "baby nurse", "night nurse" or "night nanny".
I bring a wealth of up-to-date, evidence-based knowledge in newborn care, lactation, infant feeding, postpartum wellness, early development, holistic sleep, and safety, offering support that goes far beyond basic baby care.

Nighttime Newborn Care
Feeding, diapering, and comforting your baby so you can rest undisturbed.
Creating an optimal sleep environment and initiating a nighttime routine that works for your family.

Whether I gently wake you up to nurse for night feeds, or I feed them with a bottle, your baby will be nourished and loved throughout the night.
Comprehensive notes on your baby’s feeds, diapers, and sleep, so when you awaken the next morning you are fully caught up.
Specialized care for premies, multiples, and medically complex infants.
New Parent Support
Handling baby-related duties including washing bottles and pump parts, bagging/storing breast milk, preparing formula, organization of the nursery, restocking essentials, refreshing changing stations, and starting baby laundry as needed.
Guidance on newborn care such as: routines and schedules, safe sleep, feeding, swaddling, soothing, product recommendations, specialist referrals, and everything else in-between!
Feeding Support: Assistance with breastfeeding, pumping, bottle-feeding, or combo feeding. I help with everything from teaching you the basics of formula/breastmilk storage and feeding best practices, to navigating feeding challenges, latching difficulties, bottle introduction, formula transitions, and more.
Troubleshooting and navigating challenges: feeding/latch issues, bottle aversion, GERD, reflux and silent reflux, breastfeeding/supply trouble, skin conditions, allergies, postpartum mood conditions, slow weight gain, and any issue or concern that may arise.
Postpartum support for mom: guidance on postpartum recovery, assisting you with everyday tasks to allow your partner time to rest, non-judgmental emotional support, help navigating postpartum mood challenges, and everything in-between.
Virtual support when I’m not there, so you’ll never feel entirely on your own.
Scheduling, Rates & Booking Your Tampa Overnight Newborn Care Specialist
Overnight newborn care is offered in 9-12-hour shifts between the hours of 8:00 PM and 6:00 AM, 3-7 nights per week, starting at $35/hr. A 9-hour minimum shift is required, and care can begin as soon as the first night you bring your baby home and continue for as long as you need coverage — whether that's 2 weeks or 6 months. Once there is a mutual agreement to move forward, I will send you a copy of my standard contract to review, sign, and return to me. The contract outlines all of my expected duties, the agreed-upon work schedule, the length of the contract, my retainer fee, and payment options.
A percentage of the contract will be charged upfront as a retainer to book my availability. The retainer fee varies by case and will be applied to the back end of our contract. A signed contract between us and paid retainer assures my availability to your family for the duration of the agreed-upon work schedule.

Often families seek to extend contracts when they have booked for a shorter period; thusly, I advise a consultation with me to discuss realistic expectations for how long you will require care.
My most commonly booked overnight contracts are 12-16 weeks of coverage, at 5-6 nights per week.

It's best to contact me as early as possible to ensure availability, especially if you would like to guarantee services on/around your EDD. As a highly sought after newborn care specialist in Tampa, I tend to book up 3-6+ months in advance. However, I will do my best to accommodate last-minute requests whenever possible, or refer you to a trusted colleague.

No, not unless that is your preference! I support you however you choose to feed your baby. If you are exclusively breastfeeding, I will bring your baby to you for night feeds and gently wake you to feed your baby, or wake you however you prefer (text, call, etc.).
While you’re nursing baby, I can assist with getting you water or a snack, or getting ahead on baby-related duties, like washing bottles. Once baby is done feeding, I will bring them back to the nursery to burp, change, and settle them back to sleep to maximize your rest between nursing sessions.

Yes, with a “listening ear”. The rest your night nurse/doula gets while at your home is not restful, hard sleep. When your baby wakes, your doula will be right there to comfort and care for them throughout the night.

Yes, I typically begin overnight care the very first night your baby comes home. This allows parents to settle in more comfortably while knowing their baby is well cared for, or I can assist you with getting settled in at home (unpacking hospital bags, handling baby-related tasks, etc.) while you enjoy your new baby before heading to bed. Many parents opt for longer shifts (11-12 hours) during the first week—or even the first month—to have extra support as they adjust to life at home, especially families with multiples, older children, or those without nearby support.
If you’re wanting support to begin a few days after you’re settled in at home, no problem! This is fully up to you. Some families even choose to have an extra hand overnight while they’re still in the hospital — I’m adaptable and flexible to whatever you need.

A Newborn Care Specialist is highly trained specifically in all aspects of newborn care and will have many years of experience with families during the first few months with a newborn. They will be able to help parents feel confident in their own care of their newborn and will be familiar with common issues, such as reflux, and have proven solutions and resources to help.
A Night Nanny, on the other hand, typically doesn’t process additional training, education, and knowledge in newborn care, feeding, and development beyond basic knowledge, and they offer more “basic” baby care, with no extra assistance in establishing healthy sleep habits, feeding support, parent education, and so on.
In summary, a Newborn Care Specialist provides broader, specialized support, while a Night Nanny offers more basic baby care.
Note: Many Newborn Care Specialists (NCS) and Postpartum Doulas offering overnight care may also use the title "night nanny." When seeking experienced, educated, and professional overnight support, it is important to confirm whether your night nanny has specialized training and credentials pertinent to newborn care.

Absolutely! If you have travel plans during my contracted period, whether for business trips, vacations, or stays at secondary residences, I will accompany your family if requested. I can provide overnight-only coverage while traveling, daytime support, or 24-hour care.
I have extensive experience traveling with families both domestically and internationally, as well transitioning between residences with families who have multiple residences, whether it be local, nationwide, or international residences. This includes private air and sea travel.
