  • Sleep deprivation is a significant challenge for new parents. I offer strategies and techniques to encourage healthy sleep habits for both newborns and parents. This includes guidance on establishing a bedtime routine, creating an optimal sleep environment, and promoting healthy sleep patterns to enhance overall well-being.

Sometimes a postpartum doula will simply hold your baby for contact naps while you sleep or shower. The extra pair of hands often brings sweet relief in those first couple of months.

FAQs

  • A newborn care specialist is a professional who specializes in newborn care and sleep conditioning, providing support to parents during the first few months of a baby's life. A postpartum doula, on the other hand, offers emotional and practical support to families during the postpartum period, which typically extends beyond the immediate newborn phase.

  • While there is some overlap, a postpartum doula typically focuses on providing emotional and physical support to parents and families, whereas a newborn care specialist specializes in infant care, including sleep conditioning, feeding, and other newborn-specific aspects.

  • A postpartum doula is a valuable resource for parents, offering practical assistance, infant care education, and emotional support. We can help reduce stress and exhaustion, allowing you to enjoy the early weeks of parenthood with confidence.

  • Families typically book a Newborn Care Specialist or Postpartum Doula for the first 3 months following birth, but some choose to have one for only a short period of time, such as 2-4 weeks to get acclimated. Often families seek to extend contracts when they have booked for a shorter period; thusly, I advise a consultation with me to discuss realistic expectations for how long you will require care.

  • I am certified as a Postpartum Doula through The Midwifery Institute, trained Newborn Care Specialist through Newborn Care Solutions, and have 10 years of extensive experience in the field. Striving to continuously stay up to date on best practices in the infant care industry to best serve my clients, I have obtained over 300 hours of continued education trainings and workshops. My qualifications and expertise are backed by years of hands-on experience in newborn care and postpartum support.

As a highly sought out newborn care specialist, I tend to book up 6+ months in advance. However, I will do my best to accommodate last-minute requests whenever possible.
